Everything you need to know about professional metal detection & recovery in Nebraska and Iowa.
What areas do you serve?
I serve all of Nebraska and all of Iowa. Whether you're in Omaha, Lincoln, Des Moines, Plattsmouth, Sioux City, or anywhere in between, I can travel to you — often the same day for urgent recoveries.
How does pricing work?
Lost item recovery (rings, jewelry, watches, etc.) is performed on a reward basis — you only pay what you feel the recovery is worth once your item is returned.
Property pin locating is $75 per pin.
Junk metal cleanup is $89 per hour.
How quickly can you respond?
I check messages frequently and am often available the same day or next day, including evenings and weekends. For high-value or time-sensitive losses (wedding rings, heirlooms, etc.), I prioritize immediate response and can travel statewide as needed.
What are the chances of actually finding my item?
Success depends on several factors: how soon you contact me after the loss, accuracy of the location, and whether the item is still there. Many recoveries happen even after other searchers have given up. My combination of professional equipment, systematic grid searching, and local soil knowledge dramatically improves the odds.
Do you find items in water or snow?
Yes. I have specialized waterproof equipment and strong magnets for water recoveries (lakes, ponds, rivers, pools). I also regularly search in snow and frozen ground across Nebraska and Iowa winters.
How should I prepare before you arrive?
Provide the most accurate location possible (address + GPS pin if available), recent photos of the area, and details about when and how the item was lost. Mark the general area if you can. The more precise the information, the faster and more successful the recovery.
Will my yard or property be damaged?
No. I use precise probing and surgical digging techniques. All holes are refilled neatly and turf is replaced so the area looks undisturbed. Privacy and respect for your property are top priorities.
Do you work with The Ring Finders network?
Yes — I am a verified member of The Ring Finders, an international directory of professional metal detecting recovery specialists. This network has helped return thousands of lost items worldwide.
What if you don't find it?
You pay nothing for unsuccessful lost-item recoveries (other than any agreed travel fee for very remote locations). I will still give you a full report of the search and tips to prevent future losses.
What items do you commonly recover?
Wedding bands, engagement rings, family heirlooms, watches, keys, phones, property pins, survey markers, and even larger lost tools or equipment on farms and job sites.
